Synopsis

Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago, and his death was ruled an unfortunate accident. Despite the fact that he can't recall what happened to him in his last moments of life, he is convinced that he was murdered. He has been trapped in limbo until his daughter Cecilia unearths his journal and is able to see him. She seeks help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lars' rock-and-roll life just may be the death of them, too.

This audiobook was provided by its author, Karen Michelle Nutt, in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Thanks, Karen!

If you ever want a book that really tugs on your heart strings this is it! End of the Road is the perfect mix of romance, mystery, and paranormal. I am so glad I gave this book a chance.

Usually I stick to full out paranormal romance so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this because it was only a touch of the paranormal. I was not disappointed though. Karen Michelle Nutt did an amazing job writing this magnificent story and Kelly Jackson delivered the story so well in her narration. I will most definitely have to listen to more books narrated by Kelly. The emotional aspects in this book were so potent. I laughed and cried along with the characters. I even fell in love a time or two. The feels were totally in sync.

If you want characters that you can truly fall in love with and experience a story whole heartily with, these are the characters. Their personalities are amazing. Not one of them made me want to pull my hair out. Cecilia, Lars, and Kaleb all have personalities that flow great together. Even the other characters in the background made sense. I think my absolute favorite part is that the romance aspect didn’t just happen and then two days later they start dropping I love you’s. They bonded and formed their relationship on a wonderfully spaced timeline.

The production itself turned out very well also. I’m pretty sure I didn’t hear one part that could have used work. I am so honored to be able to review this book. Lars only had such soul in his music because Karen has so much soul in her writing. I am excited to dive into more of Karen’s books and experience the adventure I rarely get out of a book.
